Alistair Krei.

That is the name echoing in his mind as he came out of the darkness, the first conscious thought as his eyes opened in what felt like a long time, staring at dim fluorescent lights on the ceiling above him.

With stiff muscles he slowly sits up, removing the mask that seemed to be feeding air into his system. He doesn't seem to question why he is in what appears to be a warehouse, or the fact that he was alone. And while he probably should have been more aware of the pain nagging in the back of his mind, none of it seemed to matter as he slid off the thin bed he lay on, rising to his feet.

Alistair Krei.

His eyes are drawn to the tubs off to one side of the room, and he takes slow, halting steps towards them to look inside. 'Nanobots,' he thinks, though he has no idea how he knows what the tiny metallic objects are. He starts to reach inside, but stops when something else that's metal glints in the low light.

He stares at his arm for a moment, his eyes studying the cybernetic appendage that seemed almost foreign, as though it wasn't his…or maybe shouldn't have been his.

But the thought is fleeting before he looks back at the nanobots. He lifts his metallic hand, and the nanobots come to life, rising to his call.

Again he starts to wonder why he knows this, but it's also quickly drowned out by the most pressing thought in his mind.

Alistair Krei.

Grabbing a coat that seemed to be waiting for him, the nanobots swirl around him as he starts to head out. The path in his mind is clear – too clear, but the thought to question it is once again snuffed out – and the cover of evening will make it easier to travel to San Fransokyo to do what he needs to. It was time to make Alistair Krei pay.

As always, he doesn't stop to wonder what he was making Krei pay for.
